Learn to Row Program June/July
Program Code: LTROW1
Program Cost: $325 pp
For the first time this year, the MRRA is offering a Learn-To-Row program which will teach you the fundamentals of both Sweep rowing (one oar per person in a team boat) and Sculling (two oars per person, in a 1x “single”, 2x “double”, and 4x “quad” team boats).
Our classes run for 6 weeks and students will meet for a total of 12 sessions. This program targets those who are completely new to the sport and those with some sweep experience looking to become proficient in sculling.
Participants will progress through different boat configurations, starting with multi-seat sweep boats (“eights” and “fours”) and then moving into sculling boats (“quads”, “doubles” and “singles”). At the end of the program, participants may take the Boat Captain's Test which allows them to use club equipment for independent rowing. Graduates of the program are invited to join the MRRA for the remainder of the rowing season as a full member at a reduced half-season cost.
To express interest in either this year's or future years learn to scull programs, or to request additional information, please email learntorow@merrimackrowing.org.
